Creating a new type?

Hi,
      I've been trying to find a full tutorial on creating a whole new type. So far I've had no success. My new type is listed in the types file in PBS, and replaces shadow. So, I replaced The "Shadow" type icon for the pokemon summary, with my custom type icon. Thing is, Shadow doesn't have an type icon in the pokedex.



I plan to make a new status effect along with this type, but the same problem comes up. I'm not sure how to add a new status effect icon in?


Please help.
